Wrth i chi fynd am dro o amgylch y tudalennau, cewch flasu ychydig o naws ac awyrgylch yr ysgol. Mae yma ychydig o hanes yr hen ysgol, a hanes yr ysgol newydd – mae yma luniau diddorol o hen ddisgyblion a hen adeiladau ym Mhentref Y Gaerwen. Yn ogystal mae yma newyddion am ddigwyddiadau’r flwyddyn diwethaf. Fe welwch fod y plant i gyd wedi bod yn brysur yn gwneud pob math o weithgareddau, a bod llawer o waith diddorol yn digwydd yn y dosbarthiadau.

 YR YSGOL

Saif Ysgol Esceifiog yng nghanol Pentref y Gaerwen. Agorwyd yr ysgol pum mlynedd ar hugain  yn ôl, ac erbyn heddiw mae tua 80 o blant yn mynychu yr ysgol pob dydd.

Mae staff o 11 yn gweithio yn yr ysgol yn ddyddiol.

THE SCHOOL

Esceifiog school is situated in the centre of Gaerwen  village. The school was opened twenty five years ago, and today around eighty children are on the school register.

A staff of 14 work at the school.

Mae Yncl Ronnie yn helpu'r plant i groesi'r ffordd bob bore a phrynhawn, beth bynnag bo'r tywydd, ac mae'n ofalus iawn yn arwain y ceir a'r bysys a'r plant ar eu ffordd. Ef yw'r un sy'n dweud hanes y pentref wrthym, gan ei fod wedi mynychu hen ysgol fwrdd Y Gaerwen, pan yn blentyn.

Uncle Ronnie is the Lollypop man, who makes sure that everyone crosses the road  safely  every morning and afternoon. If we want to know anything about the history of the old school, Uncle Ronnie will always try and help us out.

Yn y gegin bydd Anti Janet, Anti Ann  yn brysur paratoi bwyd ar ein cyfer. Rhai dyddiau byddwn yn cael cinio Dydd Sul, weithiau chips ac weithiau cyri –

Aunty Janet and Aunty Ann are the ones that make sure the children are fed every day – sometimes they make “Sunday Dinners”, sometimes chips or curry – whatever is on the menu, it is sure to disappear by 12:15 !

Wrth gwrs, mae’n rhaid i ni gael help Anti Meinir, Anti Michelle ac Anti Carys pan fyddwn yn bwyta’r bwyd ac yn chwarae ar yr iard ar ôl l cinio.

 Helping the children at the dinner tables are Aunty Meinir, Aunty Michelle and Aunty Carys. They also look after the children as they play out after dinner.

Mae’r ysgol yn sgleinio fel swllt bob amser, diolch i Anti Annita ac Anti Hilda  -  mae’r ddwy yn brysur iawn ar ôl ysgol yn brwshio a golchi a glanhau.

The school is always as shiny as a new button, thanks to Aunty Annita and Aunty Hilda, who work very hard brushing, dusting, hoovering and cleaning.

Mae pedair athrawes, a dwy gweinyddes yn yr ysgol, yn addysgu a helpu’r plant pob dydd.

There are four teachers and two classroom assistants teaching and helping the children with their work every day. 

Agorwyd yr hen ysgol Fwrdd yn y Gaerwen yn 1879 ac mae’r adeilad gwreiddiol yn cael    cael ei ddefnyddio heddiw fel Canolfan i’r Pentref. Nid hon oedd yr ysgol gyntaf yn y Pentref o bell ffordd, canys ceir hanes am amryw o Ysgolion Preifat ar hyd a lled y Pentref yn ogystal ag Ysgolion Sul yn y Capeli a’r Eglwys. Agorwyd Ysgol Gynradd newydd ar safle dros y ffordd i’r hen ysgol yn 1981, a hon yw ein hysgol ni heddiw Ar fur Cyntedd yr ysgol ceir lluniau 5 o gyn-Brifathrawon yr ysgol, ac yn y Neuadd, ceir arddangosfa o luniau’r ysgol – yn hen ac yn newydd. Mae croeso i chi ymweld â hwy.

The Gaerwen Board School was opened in 1879, and the original building is still standing, and houses the Village Hall today. This was not the first school to be opened in Gaerwen as we have evidence of many private schools operating at different addresses all over the village, as well as Sunday schools in the Chapels and Churches. The new Primary school (our school) was built on land opposite the old school, and was opened in 1981. Many old photographs depict the history of both schools, and these are exhibited on the school walls – in the Foyer and the Hall. You are welcomed to visit and look at these.
